Vincent Kotchounian is the son of famous American musician Ray Charles and French-Armenian singer and photographer Arlette Kotchounian. He did not follow his father into a music career. Instead, public reports link him to fitness training, martial arts and a small role in one of his father’s music projects.
Vincent keeps much of his life private. Because of this, only limited and verified information is available about his work, family life, age and money.
Who Is Vincent Kotchounian?
Most public biographies say Vincent was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1977. His exact birth date is not confirmed by strong public sources. Based on the 1977 birth year, he would be about 48 or 49 years old in September 2026.
His father, Ray Charles Robinson, was known around the world as Ray Charles. He was a major singer, pianist and songwriter in American rhythm and blues, soul, jazz and popular music.
Vincent’s mother, Arlette Kotchounian, also worked in music and photography. She was a French singer-songwriter and photographer with Armenian family roots.
Some sources give Vincent’s birth year as 1976 instead of 1977. Because of this difference, his exact age cannot be confirmed.

Family Background
Vincent grew up in a family connected to music and art. His father came from Georgia and became one of America’s best-known musicians. His mother was born into an Armenian family in France and later worked in the United States.
The Armenian Mirror-Spectator reported that Arlette worked with Ray Charles on music projects. It also said that she wrote and composed the English version of “The Sun Died.” She also worked with him on the album Would You Believe.
Ray Charles had 12 children with several women. Vincent is usually listed as one of his younger sons. Some websites give different details about the family, so not every online claim can be confirmed.
Education and Career
Some reports say that Vincent attended the University of Southern California. However, strong public sources do not clearly confirm his degree, subject or graduation year.
Public reports connect Vincent to fitness training and mixed martial arts. Some sources say he worked as a fitness trainer and was linked to INT and MMA Gym in Los Angeles.
Other reports call him an MMA coach. The safer description is that he has been connected to fitness and martial arts training. His exact job in 2026 is not confirmed by a recent official source.
Vincent has not become known as a singer or musician. His career has stayed mostly outside the entertainment industry.
Connection to Ray Charles’ Music
Although Vincent did not become a recording artist, reports say he helped design the cover of one of Ray Charles’ albums in the late 1980s.
This appears to have been a design role, not a singing or songwriting career. There is no strong public evidence that Vincent released music or worked as a professional recording artist.
His connection to Ray Charles’ music is important because it shows one way he took part in his father’s creative work while building a different career for himself.
Personal Life
Very little reliable information is available about Vincent’s private life. Public sources do not clearly confirm whether he is married or has children.
Some websites may publish claims about his relationships, but these claims are not supported by strong sources. For this reason, they should not be treated as facts.
Vincent has largely stayed away from public attention. Unlike his father, he has not built a career based on interviews, performances or regular media appearances.
Net Worth
There is no reliable public source that confirms Vincent Kotchounian’s personal net worth.
Some reports discuss the value of Ray Charles’ estate. However, the value of a parent’s estate is not the same as a child’s personal wealth. Estate money, inheritance and net worth are separate issues.
Without official financial records or a direct statement from Vincent, no accurate dollar amount can be given.
What Is Vincent Kotchounian Doing Now?
As of September 2026, Vincent is still mainly known as Ray Charles’ son. Public reports connect him with fitness and martial arts, but his current job is not clearly confirmed.
I could not identify a recent official interview, public announcement or verified source about a new business, music project or entertainment role.
The most reliable picture is simple: Vincent Kotchounian is a private member of Ray Charles’ family. He has been linked to fitness training, martial arts and a past album-cover project, but many details about his present life remain unknown.
